In an effort to help fight cyber attacks, Devmountain, an immersive coding bootcamp that is part of Strayer University, announced that it has expanded its portfolio to include a cybersecurity curriculum aimed toward training students with the skills to help land information security analyst positions.

Why Cybersecurity?

Hackers are disrupting our lives, from mass data breaches to ransomware attacks, and we want to be part of the solution,” said Devmountain President & General Manager Hideo Hansen. “With almost every industry functioning through technology, cybersecurity is the future, and arming our students with the skills and knowledge needed to mitigate risk and prevent cyberattacks will help bridge the gap."

What Will Students Be Taught?

Taught by seasoned instructors, Devmountain’s cybersecurity course will cover core programming language skills for use in security engineering including Python and Linux, as well as networking principles, software systems, core and offensive security practices, and standards, maintenance, and communication. It will also include two sprints: a security audit and comprehensive report and a proposal of a set of security improvements for an existing system. This project-based portion of the course will give students hands-on experience and help to build their portfolios.

Will This Course Help Me Get a Job in Tech?

Throughout the program and after graduation, students will have access to career support and job search prep, including resume writing workshops, exclusive networking events, and salary negotiation tips.
