What Does Immersive Bootcamp Mean? (What Is an Immersive Bootcamp?)

At Devmountain, we offer an immersive bootcamp experience, but what does that mean? Are there certain characteristics that a design and development bootcamp has to have before it can be considered immersive? No, not really. The answer is much simpler than that. Broadly speaking, when a bootcamp offers an immersive program, they are offering a full-time program.

Immersive Commonly Means Full-Time in the Bootcamp Industry

For the most part, immersive means full-time in the bootcamp industry, and full-time means forty hours per week at Devmountain, although, we can’t speak for what other bootcamps may label as full-time or immersive. If you are looking into attending an immersive program, just know that these programs can require a higher level of commitment than after-hours or online programs.

So, immersive means full-time, but full-time for how long? Well, it depends on the program, but at Devmountain, our immersive programs are 13-weeks-long. That means bootcamp classes are held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for the duration of the program. And, Devmountain campuses are open 24/7 for current students, so you can study late if you want.

Not all bootcamp programs are immersive. At Devmountain, the majority of the courses we offer are immersive, but we also offer after-hours for our UX Design program. None of our programs are currently online, as we focus on an in-depth, in-person learning environment. Of course, we understand that not everyone learns the same way, so we think it’s great there are options.

Devmountain’s Immersive Programs Are Really Immersive

We take the term immersive seriously at Devmountain, which means our immersive programs are more than just full-time development, design, or software courses. Each in-person program is designed to be an experience that students can be proud of completing. In order to really immerse students in the bootcamp environment, we provide housing at no extra cost, and we have a Career Support team that helps students prepare for their post-immersive program time.

At Devmountain, Immersive Means…

  • In-person instruction and learning with like-minded peers
  • No-extra-cost housing with dorm-style living near campus
  • Full-time, job-free, focus-driven bootcamp programs
  • Thirteen weeks of challenging but achievable course work
  • Career support and preparation for making a career change
